Professional Soldiers ® - Research Suggestions Needed

I am an Emergency Medicine resident interested in Special Operations Medicine. Right now I am talking to my research mentor going over different ideas for a research project. I was wondering if any of the QP or medics on the board had any suggestions.

I am looking to spend about two years working on a research project. I will have a small budget of about a thousand dollars, but access to statisticians and other people available to help with the project for free.

What I am looking to do is help out the guys on the front line. I am not a QP or a front line medic so I was hoping to get input from the members on this board. What I would like to do is find a practical problem that is facing the guys on the front line and try to solve the problem using my research time. Any suggestions? Any problems you guys see in Military/Special Operations Medicine that need fixing? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
