True story about a cookie in a chemistry lab
This is a true story, happened today.
During Chemistry class today, a girl said that she was hungry, (normal for them to complain about something), our chemistry teacher had gotten a few extra cookies from the cafeteria at lunch. He gave her one of the cookies and she asked he could you his personal microwave to heat the cookie up. I watched her go into the backroom where all the chemicals and other lab equipment is stored and after a few minutes I heard the microwave ding and then she screamed. The teacher went into the backroom and the next moment he stepped back into the classroom gagging and coughing with a strange look on his face. She had caught the cookie on fire. I had a hard time trying to stop laughing when I found out that she had set the cookie on fire. I am not sure how it happened but she did it. (She is a blonde.) |
In HS chemistry, we made pure alcohol and I drank the whole test tube. OUCH!
|
We also did a distillation lab at the beginning of the school year. And my chemistry teacher told me that I was only allowed to distill the saltwater and nothing else.
After the lab was over we discussed the finer points of how to make a proper moonshine triple still, where you distill the gas that comes off the first and the second batch. |
