New Palm
Look!
Can Wi-Fi connect between generations? We have "G" at the office; will this "B" connect to it? |
Yes. 802.11g and b work on the spectrum, 2.4 GHz. 802.11a works on 5 GHz and is therefore not backwards compatible.
The slower client will not be able to communicate at the higher speed. |
Please remember though, 802.11g equipment can be set to not allow b peers, thus withdrawing the backwards compatibility. This should mostly be changeable by software.
|
Thanks. I kind of like the looks of the new Palm. Name is gay though.

Just make sure there are no cordless phones in the area that operate on 2.4 ghz. It will override and kill your signal.

A couple of reviews if you want some more info...

But wierd because I have been in places where the use of cordless phones on the 2.4 ghz range killed my wireless signal. Oh well I don't pretend to know this stuff inside and out so...here's me moving out and drawing fire. |
