Anyone want to discuss? What are your team's needs and what do you want them to do in the draft? :munchin

Well... as the reigning back to back champs I think this year the Pats needs are bigger then ever...especially if Bruschi isn't back from his stroke/heart problem. So I'd say the top 3 areas of need are:
1)Lineback both outside and inside...they need to get younger
2)Offensive Line especially at the right tackle and guard position
3)Corner.. although the group we had last year was good enough to win
Although to be honest I don't really see anyone in the division competing with us although with the Bills it will depend on Losman, the Jets aren't going to be all that great, and the Fin's are still all screwed up on offense since Ricky left them. :boohoo

The Steelers have a few problems to address currently. Free agency didn't help us much at all.

1.) Wide Reciever - Hines Ward is solid, but Antwan Randel El is not a starting wide out by any means. Too short, not a deep threat. He's a possession reciever, best used in the slot. As I stated in the Matt Jones thread, Jones would be a perfect replacement for Plaxico Burress who is now with the Giants.

2.) Inside linebacker - Losing Kendrell Bell to the free agency might hurt a lot, or it might not hurt that much depending upon how well his back up Larry Foote plays. Right now the steelers need to draft an ILB to back up Foote. I personally feel Barrett Ruud from Nebraska would be a good pick in the second round, possibly third.

3.) Defensive Back - A pure cover corner is something the Steelers haven't had since before Rod Woodson blew out his ACL. We had Willie Williams starting this past year, but he is about as old as Brother Methuselah, and isn't a good option for a starter. I really don't know much about the good CB's in this years draft.

The Division looks to be top heavy as usual. Baltimore will be looking to re-establish themselves (good luck with Kyle Boller at QB though). Every year Cincinatti is supposed to make a push, they end up choking as always. The Cleveland Browns...lol, no comment on that laughable city, organization, and team.

Steelers are strong enough in the linebacker positions, even if Foote would go down (knock on wood), they don't need a stellar player inside, just one who can carry themselves (draft in the fourth or fifth for a linebacker). However, they do need some secondary-- the ideal person would be Pac-Man Jones, who could also do punt returns (I am slightly biased, big WVU fan). But, since they don't have a high draft pick, they should pick up a TE. Heath Miller has tight hands, although his blocking is suspect. Matt Jones would do well too. Their offense is pretty tight though, need to focus on the secondary, need someone to take the attention off of Polamalu so he can get in and put the smack down. But Cowher always drafts contrary to what most people think he should do, and since he is doing well, will just have to sit back and wonder.

I think Cowher is a top 5 NFL coach. Brilliant dude.

i usta be from Colorado...Denver could use a pass rush, a top-flight wide out and the second comings of John Elway and Terrell Davis...that being said...

I am used to not having a team -- grew up in Phoenix and moved away before they got the Cardinals. So I adopted the Vikings as my team as a kid.

They need a WR and help on D -- everywhere on D.

considering the source, that's quite a compliment.... :D

and new Safeties.

That should be a good start. I'm a die hard fan, but last couple of seasons were rough.

well, it needed stating...so, you think Randy Moss was that big a help to the Vikings? :confused:

He is a difference-maker, but a cancer too. They did not get equal value, but they dumped his salary and got rid of his issues. We'll see what they do with the salary cap room they cleared. I'm hoping Mike Williams slips to them.

Randy Moss thought he was far more than he really was- all talk, very little action, followed by lots of whining. I remember him in high school football, he was the same way, a superstar whiner. Let's see how he does away from Minnesota, that will be the tell-all.

Can go a long way by drafting Mike Williams (couldn't go wrong with Braylon Edwards either, although Williams is more physical) first off, he could be the new blood they need after T.O's departure. Sadly, they will probably take a QB first, which has shown to be a not too bright thing in the last few years (Joey Harrington for example)
