I wont spoil it, but there is quite a surprise about halfway through the movie.

From what I could tell he did, but he never removed the mag. It looks like he locked the slide and then had it checked for an empty chamber. Of course, undoing the slide lock immediately afterwards probably wasn't the smartest move. :rolleyes:
