Marksmanship Training

When you were at OSUT did your company teach marksmanship or was there a committee?

We had dedicated instructors, but the DS ran the rifle range and "coached" shooters. I was lucky, I had a Batt Boy DS coaching me.

We had range cadre that ran all the classes and live training. The DS conducted all of the drills while you werent firing, (dime/washer, shadow box).

This might help a little.

The DS went over it and helped a lot more than the range cadre/rifle instructors did.

11B OSUT and it was a committee group.

I was lucky as my father was a retired Ranger type CSM and I learned it the 1950's style. Lots of dry firing, trigger pulling and breathing. I grew up with a Browning 20g hanging on the wall in my room.
