When we started, I believe that most of the QPs on the Board were from 7th Group. We have grown quite a bit, and I wonder if that is still the case. Thus, this poll.

I think I can clear up something for you VOLAR era troops. In previous days, personnel rotated, not groups. Overseas tours had the following duration.
1st Gp - Oki 3 years 5th Gp - RVN 12 months. 8th GP -Canal Zone 2 years 10TH Gp -Germany 3 years. 46th Co - Thailand 2 years. These are for accompanied married personnel. They were sometimes shorter for unaccompanied and single personnel. Tours at Bragg were for 1 - 3 years. There were professional homsteaders but these were the normal tours. As a result, the longer you served in SF the more groups you may have served in. |

I would have asked "What Group do you claim as home."

Let me add my 2 cents. I did not serve in the 6thGp,8thGp or 10th Gp.

If I picked where I got the best and mos meaningful training it would be the 10th in Bad Toelz. :lifter Let me quailfy even further. If in the beginning the 7th had gone to Germany and the 10th stayed at Bragg -- with everything being equal my opinions would probably be juxta positioned. IMO it is the location and mission not the number or color of the flash. :munchin |
