Medicare

My wife is retiring soon and I will be out of my great health insurance from the U of Iowa. It's kept me off medicare for the past 4 years. My wife has been kind enough to research the never ending plans that are available. I am gonna go with a medicare plan from USAA are any of you enrolled in a plan from USAA and are you pleased with it?

I'm going to retire early next year, which necessitates both of us to get on Medicare. All I can say at this point is it's clear that like most government agencies, their goal is to confuse you as much as possible.

My company has had UHC for many years and their plans are at the top of what we've looked at so far.

I have USAA Supplemental and have had no problems with them. Since I got it, I've had inguinal hernia, bowel resection, and heart valve surgeries.

I carried my .gov insurance into retirement; it became secondary when I went on Medicare. With HH6's travails including a chemo infusion every 12 wks have seen no bill, so it can work seamlessly.

I have heard (from friends) who are very happy with their USAA policies. It is a far cry from a galaxy ago back when they had no time for enlisted scum and only catered to ossifers and DoD civilians. Pretty solid.
