pulmonary fibrosis
 

Been told I have ipf (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis) Diagnosed by a pulmonologist from a CT I had for something else 3 years ago.
Am short of breath and have COPD but othewise ok. I know it"s terminal but any suggestions?

No medication has been found to cure ІΡF, but two antifibrotic medications, nintedanib and pirfenidone, appear to slow disease progression and reduce the frequency of acute exacerbations. In addition, these agents appear to have a mortality benefit.

Otherwise the only treatment is oxygen in order to keep your O2 sats up.

Thanks for the reply. My Doc has mentioned those two drugs and has not prescribed O2 as of yet.
From the reports of the side effects it may not be worth it to me. I am 78 as of now so that of course limits my options. Of course I made it thru a tour of CCN so there is that!
