Survival or something else
Why is it when I read this story I think her body will be found in a few years further back up the trail?
69-year-old bikini-clad woman missing in California’s Mojave Desert https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/07/...mojave-desert/ "...The office says Thomas and her husband were hiking in the Hidden Hill area of the Mojave Desert, north of Interstate 40 and east of Kelbaker Road. The husband reportedly said he stopped to take a photo as they were returning to their parked trailer, and she went on ahead. When he got back to the vehicle, she wasn’t there, he said...." |
That can be some tough country in Summer. Temps well into the hundreds, Mojave Rattlers ...some of the most aggressive, Sun with sparse vegetation and very little water.
Not a whole lot of info but depending on distances it seems to fail the sniff test...A BOB should contain more than lip gloss, I’m thinking. |

They're crazy to be hiking out there this time of the year.
The searches are always difficult after they are deceased because coyotes usually scatter the remains. |

Looking at the area on a map, they seem to be boondocker's like my wife and I. That's a form of RVing where you never stay in a campground.
https://www.google.com/maps/place/34...7!4d-115.60314 https://www.campendium.com/hidden-hill-road You find previously used camp sites on BLM land and camp for free. G1E joined us at one of those sites after the 2017 eclipse. The problem is that a lot of bad guys are out there also. Meth cookers will take a travel trailer out and park in the isolation, especially this time of year when few others are out there. We are always armed and never separate. |
