Yemeni Houthis have been throwing missiles for a while, with a fair bit of institutional knowledge and focus on ballistic missiles since the 70’s.

And throwing hillbilly engineered SCUDs towards Mecca and now Riyadh, not unlike the Iran-Iraq Missile War throwing SCUDs at large area targets due to their inherently poor accuracy. There seems to be an emphasis on pointing the finger at Iran. Despite my considerable disdain for Iran’s leadership, and the mutual hatred that exists between Iran/Saud, I’ve yet to see evidence that Iran is providing anything more than limited proxy support in Yemen. Blaming Iran is an easy excuse, but a growing and organic D-Day like insurrection on the border of the Saudi Kingdom is a far scarier proposition. Especially when folks in Mecca and Riyadh are hearing things go bang. |
