The Navy reveres their SOF too much to disrespect them the way the Army does. Need to keep the memes coming; seems to be getting the most attention at the top.

A very good friend of mine went to high school with a guy that joined the Navy – his buddy spent 8 months hot-bunking with a guy that was assigned as a BUPERS clerk so I know that this comes from a reliable source…
The CNO has already gotten a metric shit-ton of negative feedback from active duty and retired Navy SEAL operators and they are fucking furious that this is going down after the shit-show with the SFAB’s getting a brown colored green beret. The CNO is planning to post a rebuttal on the Navy-Times website to clarify the issue. Supposedly it is mostly bad information and poor messaging. The Security Education and Liaison (SEaL) Units are not in competition with the SEAL community. Any resemblance is purely coincidental. It was clarified by reminding everyone that the SEALS only work with the SEALS from other nations Navy SEALS and don’t work with conventional Sailors. The SeaLs will SPECIALIZE in dealing with regular Sailors. The confusion hit a boiling point when it was leaked that within the Security Education and Liaison enterprise, there was going to be a smaller, lighter, more elite element referred to as the Deployment Execution Vakils. The DEV group will serve as lead agents that represent the commander’s future objectives. Because of the nature of this mission requirement, the Deployment Execution Vakil Group will have a much higher physical fitness and weight standard and will be limited to those that weigh less than 180 pounds. The unit insignia for the Deployment Execution Vakil Group will be smaller and platinum colored and will be referred to as a ‘Miller-Lite’ |
I just heard from old Navy buddy that the latest is the name of the new unit will be Security Quality Education and Liaison (SQuEaL). Their emblem will be a likeness of Ned Beatty from his role in the movie Deliverance.

The SEaLs announced their new motto today according to a close source.
“The only cheesy day was yesterday!” And “It pays to be a wiener!” The source said that it has NOTHING to do with ANY SEAL mottos! |
