A parting gift to the Cuban dictator.

If you an uneducated Muslim male of military age, you are welcome here. But not if you are being oppressed in a Communist dictatorship.

This is such a good thing for the people of Cuba that it had to be kept a secret so they could not flee the country. before the deadline. Congrats, another great support for tyranny.

Obama administration ends special immigration policy for Cubans

The end of the "wet foot, dry foot" policy, which allowed any Cuban who reached U.S. soil to stay but returned any picked up at sea, is effective immediately. Cuban officials had sought the change for years.

The Department of Homeland Security also ended a parole program that allowed entry for Cuban medical professionals. That program was unpopular with Havana because it prompted doctors to leave, sapping the country's pooled of trained health workers.

The shift had been in the works for months. It was announced abruptly because advance warning might have inspired thousands more people to take to the seas between the Communist-ruled island and Florida in order to beat a deadline.

I have never been in the wet/dry camp. I feel the best way to brake Marxism is to flood them with Capitalism..

Allowing the dissidents to leave causes the sheeple to suffer. AND allowed a second mini-Havana to develop in Mijami..

Additionally,, one needs to remember that Batista's rule was one of the most oppressive dictatorships in Latin America's history. It also supported and was supported by the American crime industry. Myer Lansky treated Miami and Havana as his personal vacation resorts.

FDR started Batista's rule in 1933 and Cuba has been in a tail spin ever sense..

Not sure if there is any GOOD solution available, but I am not in favor of pandering to the Batista and Marielito crowd(S) ruling Mijami..

The issue, to me, is that, while closing the door to Cubans, he keeps the door wide open for Mexicans and Muslims of varying origins.

If he had closed illegal immigration for everyone, that is one thing... Say, isn't there a term for applying one set of standards to one group from a particular nation, religion, or ethnicity, but applying another set of standards to a group from another nation, religion, or ethnicity? ;)

I guess not enough Cubans vote Democrat....
