I have spent my entire 69 years seeing Soviets in terms ranging from suspicion and distrust to actively opposing Soviet client states. Having said that, my ears perked up when Trump heralded Vladimir and company almost from day one. When he invited them to meddle in our electoral process got my hackles up.

We had an election of a commander-In-chief who Likes Putin because he spoke nice things about him. Sheeple followed the pied piper. Now it appears that 37% think nice thoughts of the soviet bear.

Our CINC has no respect or belief in our intelligence or law enforcement arms of government. He loots the financial sector without any checks and balances. This was guaranteed when he refused to provide IRS data as a candidate.

While I was disappointed by Obama's performance, I am genuinely concerned for the future I am leaving for my children, and generations to come. It will take a generation to recovery.

So I say, WTF happened? How did we go from a beacon of democracy to be emulated to almost a third world CINC.

Putin has been playing master chess for a lot longer than Obama's years of public service and it shows. You can't bring your checkers game to the room and be taken seriously. No more 'Bugs Bunny' red lines drawn in the sand, "I dare you to cross this line. No. This line..."

As far as any cordial relationship between Trump and Putin go - that's business. Hopefully in the next administration there are more win/win or win/lose propositions than the majority of lose/win gamesmanship Putin has played against Obama.

Having had a part and player in the strategic intelligence and war fighting strategy during the first Cold War I can tell you that I too have little faith in the modern day equivalent of our intelligence community from the DNI, DIA to the DCIA. Same goes for the current atmosphere of the DOJ and FBI. There is no trust at the highest levels of doing the right thing when the right thing is hard. I think and I hope I'm right that in the next year or two America can lead the world again in making the right hard decisions that foster respect and integrity in world affairs.

As far as Russia meddling in our political elections that's a time honored game of cat and mouse. Just ask Ted Kennedy. As it appears this time wouldn't have been an issue either if Clinton had been elected as they thought would happen.

I personally like the fact that we have a President Elect that is unafraid to throw the Bullshit flag. Also he is a proven successful negotiator with decades of experience. I seriously doubt anyone outside of his closest advisors or family know what exactly what he does or does not respect, if you do then you have a golden ticket.

I am actually surprised that you are so fired up to defend the greater IC/ government when it is a known fact how political they have become this past decade (or two). DOJ/ FBI/ IRS/ VA/ DoE/ EPA/ NEA,,,, and even the IC itself.

Too much opportunity for misinformation and disinformation IMO and having to explain reasoning for taking deductions or not. Trump did release detailed financial statements that are far more relevant IMO.

Americans appreciate strength if we don't respect the strength of Putin and recognize it unlike Obama then we are asking for what we have gotten under Obama, Russians are tough stoic people accustomed to struggle like any other predator they smell weakness they take what they want. Did you really want to go to war with a depleted military both people and technologically under a weak leader like Hillary ironically she was also complicit in their becoming powerful again.

Funny many of us actually still serving feel the same... under Obama, intelligence took a backseat to LGBT, Women rights and Green energy. How about the CENTCOM Commander being brought before Congress become over 50 highly experienced analysts wrote an anonymous letter stating that the intelligence was false and corrupted by the many layers of GS and commanders between them and the POTUS(Command climate). Law enforcement under this administration was a group of fat under achieving woman suing the Colorado Springs Police Dept because the physical requirements of the police dept. were biased against woman forcing the city to suspend the requirement that should make americans feel safe. Or all the cop killings in which Obama refused to condemn.

Take hope Hillary was not allowed to finish the destruction of America Obama started and the DNC has shown its true colors where even the most liberal should be able to see their F-America agenda.
