D Day
At this moment, 72 years ago, American and British paratroops were dropping into France from the dark skies to battle for the fate of the world. Often scattered and dropped far from their orginal objectives they fought ferociously and without support until the main invasion force landed many hours later. Their courage and willingness to sacrifice everything for a great cause should humble us all. May they rest in peace and honored glory and may we treat the very few survivors today with respect and deep gratitude. As the popular song of the time went; Bless 'em All!

CURAHEE !!
Reading the books about the paratroopers of D-Day put me on the path to Army Airborne.
Fort Bragg, in 1969, had many veterans of D-Day, I was humbled to be a part of the unit. Hand salute. :lifter |
Thank You, just doesn't seem enough.
