This was big news 3-4 years ago when first introduced by Carl June out of Penn. A few centers are trying different modifications of this therapy and we'll see which one ends up on top. I'll be hearing updates on this topic from the world leaders in about 90 minutes - the biggest BMT and cellular therapy meeting in the world starts today.

I have to assume this release was allowed because the data will be shared at the upcoming session.

It was a great session with a talk suggesting that CAR T-cells can be made with antibodies for multiple targets using and/or programming based upon the constructs. If so, this could blow the field wide open and make the targeting of solid tumors and non B-cell malignancies possible.
