Akitas were bred to hunt bears as a male/female pair. The best I can tell from my 4 is that they chase the bear up a tree then take a nap underneath it.

They don't fetch either: Fetch! (May have even been worse since they used a stunt Shiba to play the part of the Akita. ;))
