"President Obama, in a historic first for the Pentagon, has chosen to nominate Eric Fanning to lead the Army, a move that would make him the first openly gay civilian secretary of one of the military services.

Fanning’s nomination is the latest in a series of actions taken by the administration to advance the rights of gays and lesbians throughout the federal government. The Obama administration has overhauled internal policies to provide benefits to same-sex partners, appointed gay men and lesbians to the executive branch and the federal bench and ended the 18-year ban on gays serving openly in the military..."

I stand corrected. I should of googled the guy before I made the comment. Otoh the very fact that we're hearing about this guys orientation speaks to the climate of anti-judeo/christian direction this country is headed in.

No prior service should preclude nomination from any military related position. Otherwise I guess he's qualified. Why put his homosexuality out front? Did they announce the last guy was hetero?

Is he the cause of the cadets having to wear CMFM pumps for a day to build empathy for women or transgender so or whatever?

Before this thread takes an even sharper turn, I would point out that W. Scott Thompson, a civilian who played a small but important role in the renewal of the armed services during the Reagan Era is gay. Things being what they were, he lived a closeted life. One can only imagine how much more he could have done for his country and the GOP had he not needed to worry about the backlash of "coming out."

I'll take that "sharper" turn. All this "appointee" is an Army bashing and lashing out of the current liberal/socialist agenda.

It's nothing different than yelling form the roof tops, "I appointed a fag as your new commander and there's nothing you can do about it."

I'm not "openly" anything so do I need to start informing the world I like to (insert anything here cause no one cares) while having sex?

All obama and his ilk are doing is rubbing it in our faces. We will bow to the 1%, this is their world however deviant they may be. Any act against or intolerance of will be dealt with by a fine or prison term, no matter what your ideals.
