Notice anything about these photos???
In the last 67 years,, Israel has spent ZERO Shekels on camo?? Why are we spending bazillions of our tax dollars to hide in plain sight??? :munchin |
Philosophy, operational environment, necessity, allocation of funds, mission.
We used to have garrison and field 'duty' uniforms; now there's basically one being worn for both roles. The IDF has its 'traditional' basic uniform seen in your (and most) pics, and also has a couple variations of camouflage uniforms it issues to some units like we used to do, too. How many years was OG the standard color of our duty (Class D) uniforms? I wouldn't lose any sleep pondering it over, Lucy. And so it goes... Richard |

Did you say something about camo? |
We always used standard Jungles that we spray painted to look like the area we would be inserting into. Hell, after an hour on the ground, ANY uniform would be sweat soaked and have picked up the natural color of the Dirt that you were moving through!!

Yes, I noticed a few things...
1) The IDF have some attractive conscripts serving in uniform. 2) As with (1) above they don't need a camouflage pattern to detract from what's plain to see. (Even the biggest one isn't shaped like a pear) 3) The IDF is and has been at war for nearly 65-years and don't see the value in a PX uniform worn in the garrison like our CSM's do. As a side note I also noticed the one guy in picture #4 is quite happy. :lifter |
If you do some digging...
The IDF limits females in combat,, but most of the DI's and instructors are females. That fact that service in mandatory has it's detractors but also some supports.. |
