SF....Nightstalkers

There is the obvious "rivalry" between SF and Seals, Army and Marines, etc. What is the relationship you SF guys have with the 160th? I only ask because I have a relative who is 160th and when I told him I was obtaining an 18x he gave me that smirk hah.

Maybe the smirk was because he knows the pass rate for 18x into actually making it to a Team. A lot of guys drop out of their contracts in Basic.

Very aware of this. I guess it's good they don't waste cadre time by going for something they clearly do not want. But it would have been nice if that contract was available to someone who really did want it. Guess some people don't know until they are faces with adversity, discomfort and a true fight.

Dan, you're not going to make it through SFAS by way of an elevated post count here and at SOCNET.

Spend more time doing PT - and reading.

The original helicopters for 160th came from the SF Group Aviation Detachments. They were supposed to improve maintenance, readiness, etc. Unfortunately, that went by the wayside and now, it is extremely rare for 160th to fly any kind of support for an SF Group. At one time, USASFC(A) and the subordinate Groups were slated for ZERO hours of support from 160th. I am not sure that has changed.

IMHO, most of the aviators from 160th are very good at what they do, but see themselves as more special than Special Forces, due to some of the units they work with.

Just my .02, YMMV.

Nice...
...and it doesn't matter who they are driving.

Unless you paint the bus black...
...that makes you an operator.

If not for one of their VERY talented bus drivers, i would not be here today. I have nothing but the utmost respect for them and every thing that they do to get me safely from point A to point B.

I'd much rather have a man fly me into the side of a mountain than by a computer.
