Where do you go for news ?
Just wondering…
Where do you get your news? I try to visit a variety of sources before I come to any conclusions, even then I don’t trust any source as being “fair and balanced”. All media has its agenda, their own “talking points”. The baby went out with integrity and that tub of bath water long before Edward R. Murrow. I prefer to let Rush, Hannity, and Glenn tell me what news I need to know about...
...but on occaision I also follow Fox, the networks, Commie News Network, the Modern Shitstirring News Bumbling Clowns, hUFF POST, USA today, nyt, wapo, the daily show, the colbert report, bbc, al jazerra, and anyone else that gets my attention. News is like pro-wrestling it used to be worth watching because it seemed so real then after a while it became so obvious that it was just "programing" they decided to shed the cloak of deciept and deliver it for what it is... ...entertainment After all, does ANYONE really really really expect me to believe that cHris mAtthews is going to deliver onformation that is any more news worthy than steven colbert or jon stewart? ...at least your heart doesn't break as much when you laugh at news delivered by a comedian |

It is usually one of the first sites I check in the mornings and throughout the day. From Billy L-bach's biting satire to the world wide membership of this board, anything and everything that is happening in the world, or here at home (America) can be found here and usually as it's happening. |

If you look into how ratings and ad revenue effect delivery of news, it is discouraging. |

The Actual "Operation Tailwind." & the incorrect story"Valley of Death" by April Oliver & Jack Smith & Peter Arnet which was false & retracted by CNN & Time Warner on July 2, 1998. Stated that the U S Army SOG used sarin nerve gas in the operation, IMHO CNN & Time Warner will run any story that will improve its ratings without factual proof......tom kelly

Jewish world review has some pretty good authors.
National review as well. I take a daily look at drudge-the headlines are sometimes a little far fetched though. |

BBC, Drudge, .................... NPR & CNN
BBC - I like the BBC because they give pretty good coverage everywhere. From their main page you can cycle through the Africa, Asia, US & Canada, etc, etc headlines pretty quickly. If you find anything that interests you - you can goggle for more stories from different sources.
Drudge - Not a news site - but a collection of "odd" stories in one location. CNN - take it for what it's worth but does have good covered of most places. NPR - I find to be more like a magazine - more fluff but good stories here and there. I stopped watching the national news on TV years ago. By early evening it's all old news with a liberal spin. |
I like the BBC also, Pete. They read the news. It is news for news sake, not for personal glorification...

Forums like this one and Small Wars Journal for the serious stuff.
Itulip.com for finance/econ. Broad spectrum of niche online news sources depending on what/where. Mass Media for mostly getting a sense of what mass media want me to think. |
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty - www.rferl.org - is a good resource for news from the countries of the former USSR and its periphery.
Long War Journal - www.longwarjournal.org - is good for coverage of the war on Islamist terror theater of operations. |
