Australian Army Skill at Arms Meeting
Anyone here ever participate at AASAM?
Apparently the US has not won or placed in top three since 2008. Instead, Indonesia has ruled the competition every year since 2008 till 2014 with the most gold medal. Several intl. students at SWCS pointed it out to me and I was amazed. From the clips below I saw some effed-up platform, not using available sling for long precision shots, etc. Also our guys shooting A2 with ACOG for long range moving target?!?!? Where's the H58? I've seen our guys deliver near-fiction performance at USASOC match, and I had trained cadets to rule at the All Army (esp. the Audie Murphy match) back in '06-'07 time frame where participants run till max heart rate then shoot at German soldier silhouette. The same ones used at AASAM. Those and I saw how the USAMU guys shot 96 -97 during rapid fire at Camp Perry despite our shooting during rainstorm with water bubbles on our safety glass, spotting scope, and front sight! Who the hell are representing United States in Australia each year? With the South China Sea heating up, I think it merits strategic consideration to send a team to represent the best surgical marksmen (and women) on earth and show everybody we can reach out and touch anybody, anything, anywhere on demand under any condition. So, who would like to join me and tdy to the land of waltzing Mathilda :D ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEN0jbhgoCc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbm8QfmBjBA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yR-05qOFDx4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKb6dmKimFU (I'm sure most here can do it faster with M9..and twice faster with G19 or G17!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30AQNbojmuQ 4:49 and 5:50 when it gets "interesting" Seems like folks in the non-Western countries with the exception of Russia do this kind of confidence training |
It may be a bit like the Omanis at Bisley.
Reportedly a dedicated team that does little to nothing but compete year round for specific shooting competitions serials. |
Whose gonna pay for the boon doggle? We're all busy at 1st one way or another. With budget cuts whose going to have money to send guys over and participate? It's safe to assume that we are just too busy or just broke to send guys over.
