I look at this as a good thing for a couple of reasons.

First it will weed out people with mental illness that may get in and later cause problems or even not be able to take the stress of the military.

Second it will give a good baseline for combat vets when they come back and are evaluated for PTSD or suffer TBI.

Now the down side.

How will the test be given? What will the standards be? And what will happen with the info once a determination is made someone had a mental illness read HIPPA

Completely agree on all counts. The broad stroke of defined mental illness could lead to unforeseen consequences.

What he said..

Could the Army use Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) for the litmus test??

Is a "natural born killer" good for the Army??

If the person is mentally incompetent for the service??
Would they be encouraged to try teaching or LEO work??

Can a non-combat billet be filled by someone that is not "competent" for a combat billet??

This is going in the wrong direction,, and it ain't started yet...
