TRICARE may meet the ACA minimum requirements but the fallout from the ACA, like doctors not accepting MEDICAID, MEDICARE (TRICARE) and ACA insurance, may still affect those enrolled in TRICARE.

This may sound strange, but Mike Chaney, the Insurance Commissioner for the State of Mississippi told me that ultimately Tricare may be one of the best policies to have when all of this ACA BS finally shakes out. He did not specify why, but told me to hold on to my Tricare policy at all costs. Which is great, but I don't start receiving Tricare for 3 years, being a grey area RC retiree.

TRICARE is virtually identical to MEDICARE. They reimburse in exactly the same fashion using the same congressionally mandated prices. If doctors stop taking MEDICARE, I would see no reason why they would accept TRICARE.

You should ask him why.
