Lower receiver ban
A search for HR 2910 did not show any posts here.
Just another bill to keep an eye on to rally against. I believe it will be marketed as a mental health bill rather then as an incompete 80% lower receiver ban. Most likely will die in committee. At least that's the hope. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/113/hr2910/text SEC. 101. DO-IT-YOURSELF ASSAULT WEAPON BAN. (b) Prohibited Acts- It shall be unlawful for any person to sell, offer for sale, manufacture for sale, or import into the United States for sale, to a consumer-- (1) an assault weapon parts kit; or (2) a machinegun parts kit. (d) Consultation- In enforcing this section, the Consumer Product Safety Commission shall periodically consult with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives regarding effective strategies for and methods of enforcement. |
That's some more of the Commiefornia crap. Every time they find out about a way to get something legal, they have to ban it. Fuzz them.

SEC. 102. PROHIBITION OF ADVERTISING DO-IT-YOURSELF ASSAULT WEAPONS.
(a) In General- It shall be unlawful to market or advertise, on any medium of electronic communications, including over the Internet, for the sale of any of the following: (1) A firearm receiver casting or firearm receiver blank that-- (A) at the point of sale does not meet the definition of a firearm in section 921(a) of title 18, United States Code; and (B) after purchase by a consumer, can be completed by the consumer to the point at which it functions as a firearm frame or receiver for a semiautomatic assault weapon or machinegun. (2) An assault weapon parts kit. (3) A machinegun parts kit. (b) Enforcement by the Federal Trade Commission- A violation of subsection (a) shall be treated as a violation of a rule defining an unfair or deceptive act or practice described under section 18(a)(1)(B) of the Federal Trade Commission Act (15 U.S.C. 57a(a)(1)(B)). The Federal Trade Commission shall enforce this section in the same manner, by the same means, and with the same jurisdiction, powers, and duties as though all applicable terms and provisions of the Federal Trade Commission Act were incorporated into and made a part of this Act. Reading bills like this really sheds light into the deep psychosis these types of people have. This is their "ideal" fantasy world where no one is safe until it is illegal to even "advertise", in any medium, firearms. That's pretty far into the commie forest. Next, it will be illegal to even say the word...."Gun" without some sort of legal repercussions and re-education training. Because.."For the Children..." I'm not sure of many other great evils that it was never not for "the children...A superior future...Forward!..ext". |
This needs to be terminated, promptly..
There are a lot of people that have the blocks and presses to bend flat sheet metal into several types of eastern european rifle frames. AK's, MP5's, CETME, HK, & others. AND IT'S LEGAL.. You can MAKE frames for personal use,, but you can not sell them, so easy (read: do your homework) link to: one man's opinion link to: bending flats Along with the receiver made from bending flats, there are millions of imported de-mil'd parts kits.. Might be time to buy a bunch of kits to store for.. what ever?? :munchin |
The issue would not just be that the legislation would ban 80% receivers, but ALL lowers and parts kits.
You would not be able to buy a receiver from an FFL and build a rifle, or for that matter, own a receiver or a parts kit. Stupid legislation by an idiot liberal hopolophobe who does not understand cause and effect. Tell me, sir, how many people were killed with homebuilt rifles with 80% receivers last year? I strongly suspect that the number is zero, unless the Feds were handing them out. TR |

Yep. A quick query as I was curious on where the bill sponsors were from. No surprises here: Waxman (D) California 33rd District (W. LA) Pallone (D) New Jersey 6th District (Might as well be NYC) Capps (D) California 24th District (SLO and Santa Barbara) Schakowsky (D) Illinois 9th District (N. Chicago) Matsui (D) California 6th District (Sacramento) Napolitano (D) California 32nd District (E. LA) Davis (D) Illinois 7th District (W. Chicago) |
You can build an AK-47 receiver out of a shovel. Better ban shovels.
 |

Good thing I have everything to build 5 more 5.56 lowers and 2 more 7.62 lowers at the house waiting to be machined and built.
Damned liberals...Richard, your friends are bothering us again. :p |
Next, it will be illegal to purchase a 0% block of aluminum because some one will know how to machine it from scratch. All drill presses, lathes and metal working tools of any kind will become illegal because they can be used in the manufacture of fire arms. This crap has to be put to an end. It is about time to. Teach the libtardians the REAL reason for the 2A.

With the current engineering software packages available, you can create what ever, cut a cd, and take it to your EDM or CMC shop and get the real deal. The precess of making layers of dusk turn into a weapon is the tail of the libturds.. It's about useless.. |
A well trained and well led squad using just a few shot plastics can acquire machined weapons and soon be on their way to becoming a well trained, led, and armed platoon, then company.

I've been reading about milling a receiver but wonder how long it will last without being hardened afterwards? What is your experience? I'm in Japan right now and this is an option (ship to my home in the US until I'm home). |
