K2BSA: Jamboree!
 

I know many here were, or still have, a deep connection to Scouting. The Jamboree is ongoing at their West Virginia location. Am told during a contact by them on a morning net I was running over 30,000 Scouts there now, and they're looking forward to the World Jamboree in 2019.

Got back last night. Had a blast. I stopped by and talked to several at K2BSA, was also walking around with my HT talked to a lot of scouts. They did a balloon launch, ect, etc.

There is a place in my past in were I as a scout got my ticket while a scout and became a EE. Yes it all is connected and it does matter.

I talked briefly with my friend Dany Fitz, his son Kyle was with you last week and said that he really enjoyed the commo portion and had a really great time. Good stuff, and you are right, it is all related.

Yes he had a blast. The K2BSA had it going on. Very good setup, ICOM, but that's ok. :D

I talked with the young leader about my past and how I got were I am at, just because of radio. He got very excited about the ham radio and I hope he takes it on further.

He did good, good parents.

I was just at a friends house yesterday on my way home from a vacation trip. His son had gone to Jamboree with the Andrew Jackson Council contingent. The Scout mentioned the commo portion specifically. He is planning to follow his Dad's footsteps in joining the Air Corps when he's old enough. He said he's thinking going into something commo related or ATC. He wants to help out with JOTA at the fall camporee if it coincides.
