In fact, there’s been 16 17 18 cancellations (and counting!) in the last 48 hours as networks prepare for their upfront presentations to advertisers in New York City next week (including six sitcoms on NBC alone).................."

Interesting list. I looked through the list to see how many shows I watched were getting axed.

As far as I can tell I haven't watched a single episode of any of them.

I guess getting cancelled is a review in and of itself.

Isn't that called "the Nightly News"?

I liked Vegas and Golden Boy for both story and acting (or at least what passes for it).

I watched some of the Fringe episodes, story line not bad for Scfi, actors weak.

The Gary Sinise (Lt Dan Band) version of CSI was almost as good as NCSI and far better the the LA/Mia versions..

I enjoyed Vegas, hate to see it go, but younger crowd is not into "old stuff". Wife liked Body of Proof, only thing on in that time slot that was not drivel.

The other stuff never watched and never cared to.

Another person here who hasn't seen a single episode of ANY of the cancelled shows. Ho hum. Now if (as MR2 implies) they'd clean house in the news departments, we might have something worth celebrating.

The only one on that list that I watched was Body of Proof. Dana Delaney AND Jeri Ryan .... :D
But I knew it was heading down hill when ABC kept moving it around, different times, different nights. That's usually the death bell for a show when that happens. I'm surprised it lasted 3 seasons with that happening.
As long as CBS doesn't cancel Big Bang Theory and Elementary, I'll be happy.

Oh, and agree with sweeping away the news crap, too.

Never seen any of them except for 15 min on night of Vegas. It did not catch my eye and off to a good book......

They probaly need to CXL a bunch more.

I always enjoyed Rules of Engagement, I liked Patrick Warburton's dry humor and delivery. Not a lot on TV as a whole that I find as can't miss, especially network news.

At least 95% of what replaces those shows will be as bad, or worse.

The problem is that Hollyweird has no idea what people like outside of NYC and LA, and they don't want to know.

Groupthink reigns supreme.

Six seasons and a movie!
When I saw this quote, I was sure Community would be on the list, but it got renewed. I guess NBC realized just how many crappy sitcoms they had, and they shouldn't dump one which was low-rated (going up against Big Bang Theory) but beloved by its community of fans and critics.

The Office probably should have been cancelled at least two years ago. It was a good show in its prime but it had already run out of ideas.

30 Rock could be funny, but it was really carried by Alec Baldwin, who for all his personal and political problems is a great comic actor.

Don’t Trust the B– in Apt. 23 was actually hilarious and well-written, but definitely not major TV network material.

I agree with cbtengr on Rules of Engagement. Patrick Warburton has always been great. And Goldie Hawn's son Oliver Hudson played a great "dumb blonde" (despite not being blond). But the show didn't really have anywhere to go.

Happy Endings is the only other one on the list I watched regularly. It was funny, but not designed for a mass audience and the rapid-fire dialog probably didn't appeal to a lot of viewers for whom TV is a pastime.

I used to watch CSI:NY, but hadn't seen it in a few years. I don't know if the quality went down. I trust Gary Sinise won't be out of a job for long, and he definitely has a lot of other important and entertaining side activities to fall back on.

Another one in the "I ain't never seen any of those shows and won't miss 'em at all."


I do agree that what will replace them will be the same useless, tasteless, tacky, ultra-lib, left-coast crap that got dropped.

I swear the only reason I own a TV is to watch the Broncos with the Superbowl this year!

By the way, when I went to the ew.com article, there was a "You Might Like" link to other articles with one entitled "15 Celebrities Whose Politics Have Made Them Unpopular".

I will save you the trouble of clicking. 11 out of 15 are (or were) conservative in various forms. One - Arnold Schwarzenegger - is a Republican, but not a conservative, and whose unpopularity seems less political than personal. One - Jenny McCarthy - is a wackadoo whose particular issue isn't really political. And only two are on the left - The Dixie Chicks and Oliver Stone. The others:

Thats quite a list, let me guess according to who? Just for fun let's do a poll that is directed to those who tend to lean conservative or to the right. Who would members of those groups name as "Celebrities whose politics have made them unpopular.

Jane Fonda, Sean Penn, Johnny Depp, Oliver Stone, Michael Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donell, Danny Glover etc. etc
