For me, I just make a large pot using using Folgers Dark Roast, and then add my Irish Cream creamer to the mix.
I have my big 'ol travel mug that holds 32oz and this usually makes my day start off well.
While on the road, I prefer 7-11 coffee (believe it or not :D). I can't stand Starbucks or any other "large coffee corporation" like that.

What say you folks ???

Folgers Breakfast Blend. Black, unsweetened. Best made on a campfire. On the road I take a Stanley vacuum-insulated thermos full of same. If the power is out I'll chew it like dip.

We are very similar.. I use the same Folgers w/diet Carnations Instant Breakfast and skimmed milk, instead of the Irish Cream. :lifter and drink it out of an old(circa 80's) Spring Break Beer mug that holds 32ozs.. This has been my morning starter for over 20 yrs, but it's the only caffeine I drink all day..

We buy Kirkland Espresso beans from Costco and grind them at home. I bought my wife an espresso machine for her birthday a few years back and it's more than paid for itself. Since I started making my own I haven't had a coffee that I prefer anywhere else.

Sometimes it's easier to find coffee than water in the hospital - I drink whatever's in the pot (so long as it isn't that decaffeinated crap) - I take it black and in large quantities. Doesn't matter if it's been cooking down all day.

Best I've ever had was Kona Peaberry that was brought back as a gift from a patient who went to the islands for his Make-A-Wish, although Jamaican Blue Mountain is a close second.

How do you take it? -- Lots of cream, lots of sugar. I'm not happy unless the spoon stands straight up.

How do you make it? -- French press.

Do you grind your own beans or just purchase pre-ground coffee? -- Either or.

What's the best you've had? -- I have no idea. I've had many.

The worst? -- A local roaster. One bag we got from them produced coffee that tasted like raw sewage.

What would you recommend? -- Starbucks. Bustelo. Seattle's best. And Makers Mark from Sam's Club is also surprisingly good, although it isn't the wife's favorite.

Do you grab coffee on the road and if so, whose? Absolutely. Starbucks, usually. They're consistent and good.

I mail ordered Gevalia's 'Round the World Select Picks' since 1979. Gevalia is now available in the Commissary - House Blend is my choice these days.

On the road it is McDonald's or Burger King's Senior Coffee please.

I take it black and don't care for the flavored stuff. I don't care much for Starbucks or their coffee. Of the snob brands, I prefer Seattle's Best.

Ten cup (4oz) pot a day whether I need it or not.

At home -- Cafe Bustelo or Maxwell House dark roast -- either prepared in a Bialetti pot (Mocha Express or large one) depending on needs/inventory.

Add warm milk as desired.

On the road -- DD (Dunkin Donuts) if available, McDonalds has been pretty good lately. No flavors. Black or w/milk and sugar depending on what I feel like at that moment.

If I'm flying (or need internet access) and the wife buys me a Starbucks card I'll use it in the airport or hotel and choke it down - otherwise DD or MD.

At work: Starbucks, Venti, dark roast(of the day, week, month) with the occasional "red-eye" shot. 1 - 2 raw sugar and some milk, or black; depends on how tired I am.

At home: Whatever I got in the freezer(Tasters Choice, Starbucks, Gevalia or Lavazza), 2 heaping scoops in to the Breville's little mesh basket. One sugar, little milk or flavored creamer.

On the road: Whatever, wherever I can find it. As long as it has caffeine, lots of it. :D

Every day I make a full pot and drink it, usually by 9AM! I use the same ingredients, the same cup, and I follow the same procedure! If this is somehow interrupted all those I work with, near, and for have a bad friggen day!:D

When out and about, any coffee will do. Yes, I have a Starbucks Card and an app that can find a Denny’s anywhere! The only bad coffee is the coffee not had! I lived in Italy for years and pretty much became a coffee snob over there and had to break some pretty hard habits when I got back stateside!!! I am now cured of coffee snobbery and have become sort of a coffee whore!

Grind it, 6 well rounded tea spoons (the small spoon in your flatware set, NOT measuring spoons) / 12 cups

Grind it. Either a Cuisinart Burr Grinder or Cuisinart grind and brew coffee maker. Most of the beans I use clog the coffee maker after 1-2 pots so I started grinding separately.

What's the best you've had?

I'm trying to remember the name, I think it's Sello Dorado or something like that. It's local to Colombia and I haven't been able to find it here in the states. I'm sure someone can help me out with the name, it's the one that everybody that goes down ends up bringing back by the case.

The worst?

It's a toss up between Maxwell house served at the NG Armory and the crap they sell at Costco. One quick note to those of you that make coffee... Trying to make bad coffee taste better by making it stronger just makes it taste worse.

What would you recommend?

Cool Beans Coffee Roasters http://coolbeanscoffeeroasters.com/ They ship fast too. I was getting 5 lb bags from them in Afghanistan within 7-10 days. Those of you that were over there with me and stopped by the 6 or who I gave a bag of beans have had it. Also the chapel had 10 lbs of it when they were out. Personal favorite is the Sumatra. The Jamaican Blue from there is awesome, but at $39/lb is a bit too pricy for day to day.

I usually bring a thermos from home, but if I have to get some on the road, McD's coffee works in a pinch if it's fresh. Otherwise anything will do.

Folger's Classic from the Bunn, sometimes one of their slightly stronger blends is the general house inventory.

For a treat late at night HH6 will call up to the McD's where the (now grown w/kids) little gal we've known for a couple decades literally has that store. She will put on a fresh pot of their decaf, which is what it takes to do a couple of the biggest cups. The carafe never has a burner under it, then into the cup.

When fresh, McDonald's is actually some pretty darn good coffee (although I've been some places where the water used rendered it beyond help).

Not a $tarbuck$ snob. Sometimes the best cup ever has nothing to do with the ingredients, but the circumstances & who you get to share it with.

Anything that has set on the warmer too long.

Find good beans, grind them yourself. Use good water. Use a carafe instead of a coffee pot warmer.

I hate to admit this, but McDonald's is actually making some decent coffee.

Caffeinated, black, with or without sweetner.
How do you make it?
Calphalon drip coffee maker; 1 sm scoop per cup; once brewed, I pour it in a Calphalon thermos to keep it hot and stop the brewing process.

Preground Cafe Verona, Gold Coast, or Jakob's Kronung (when I can find it).
What's the best you've had?
Any canteen cup of any hot coffee whenever I've been too wet and/or cold.
The worst?
"Coffee American" in Thailand - 5% coffee/95% milk and the ice cubes had insects and debris in them.
What would you recommend?
The "Irish Coffee" at the Buenavista in San Francisco.

Starbucks "Coffee of the Day" or MacDonald's.
