Never forget.
|
For some, every day is 9/11. For others...they're too busy going to the mall.
Never forgive, never forget. |
Only a few people even mentioned the date to me yesterday which I think is kind of surprising given the fact of how that day has changed all of our lives.
A thought that came to me yesterday while I was thinking about that Tuesday, along the same lines as the "where were you on Sept 11th" I was thinking about what will the next 10 years look like, and what will we have done for ourselves and others looking back. Man I can remember my grandma talking about Pearl Harbor in the kitchen of her house and how she said it was just like yesterday. I know her and my grandfather accomplished a lot for their selves and others after that day.. |

Took some time off the wood cutting, and end of summer projects. Polished-dyed leather, shined brass. I went to the 9/11 memorial run by the American Legion and attended by our local Rep's of various agencies and such. They do one each year in the morning, and then a candle lighting in early evening. I went as a spectator, they did taps, followed by 21 gun salute, flag to half mast and then bagpipes.
I departed at the end of the bag pipes. You could have heard a pin drop, well if the clip clop had not sounded as we left. Never forget. |
Last summer, I was working at a boy scout camp in Maryland. One day, the "First Year Camper" director approached me, and mentioned this bit...
The 11-year old scouts had no idea what 9/11 is. :( |
