This to me is a shame, because "Casper Milk Toast" won't beat "O",but Santorum might have because he was a least a true conservative

What of Newt?

...realistically-now begins the test of whether or not the Republican Party can rally behind one person....or implode.

Conservatives

Once again the Conservatives shoot themselves in the foot during the primaries.

The Conservatives split around 60% of the vote letting the moderate float to the top with his 40%.

A good number of consrevatives will shoot themselves in the other foot by voting third party or sitting out the general election.

This "strategy" will ensure O's reelection.

As a side note - I don't realy think the Republican "moderates" really care as long as they keep their Washington power base, get to "do lunch" and strut the halls.

There will be no slowdown in spending until the party train goes over the cliff.

Maybe not. There's not the same rift between mods, independents and Conservatives that was there in '08, IMO.

This time, they know what they're up against, and the situation is more serious. Maybe they'll say, "Well, we have to rally around this nincompoop in order to have time to groom (whoever)."

What, no support for Dr. Paul?? I'd take him over "Obamney" just due to MSM's dislike of the guy alone...

You mean like, "What, no support for Mr. Perot?? I'd take him over "Slick Willie" just due to MSM's dislike of the guy alone..." (?)

I am starting to smell 4 more years of the current POTUS

...and if we are lucky, a presidential decree will have outlawed the republican party by then, so we will be allowed to vote for uncle joe as POTUS in 2016

Of course, theres always that Mayan doomsday thing to look forward to

Don't sweat it, Brother. Too many real Americans still hanging around the Country.

Fuck 'em, and the Mayans, too. ;) We'll come out smelling like a rose, as usual.

What we need to concentrate on is training our kids in the right path, so that shit doesn't get this close to the fan, anymore.

Santorum

Rick Santorum has never qualified as a conservative IMHO. I thought he was for sale 10 years ago and I think so today.

lol Among the last pollsters I'd put any stock in is ABC, Bro-think about it.

The "news" stations are also pulling out all the stops.

Go out into the street in Anytown and poll people yourself; apart from liberal havens, it's hard to find anybody who'll admit to voting for Obama, past or future.

It's the economy, Bro.

Yeah...and I could never find anyone who voted for Ted Kennedy either....

Teddy....for better or worse here we go. The American people will get what they "deserve". Or as I like to put it "Apparently things don't suck quite enough yet".

That's understandable-he didn't run for office in Maryland, did he? :D
