Politics - it's a dog's life...

Life - it's all about politics.
Take my dog, for example, who sleeps about 20 hours a day.
She has her food prepared for her.
She can eat whenever she wants.
Her meals are provided for her at no cost to her.
She visits the doctor once a year for her checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise.
For this she pays nothing, and nothing is required of her.
She lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than she needs, but she is not required to do any upkeep.
If she makes a mess, someone else cleans it up.
She has her choice of luxurious places to sleep.
She receives these accommodations absolutely free.
She is living like a Queen and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever.
All of these costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day.
I was just thinking about all this when suddenly it hit me like a brick up side the head...I think my dog is an effin' member of Congress!

And so it goes...

Richard - Sounds like it to me.

Unfortunately...

Unlike your dog, we can't take a member out of Congress and lawfully put them down when their time has come.

Great analogies, though...as always, interesting perspective. :D

Well, when comparing politicians and dogs you have to consider the behavior of sniffing each others' butts while trying to determine dominance.

Yep.
Dogs do it, too.

What an insult to decent dogs every where... ;)

Afterall, dogs have a very important trait absent in Congress, loyalty.

Not when they are fighting over a barrel of pork...;)

Key fault to you comparison...

...a dog is normally loyal to the one that provides for its comfort
...a dog will warn you when an intruder is about
...even though they may have fleas, you dont mind being close to a dog

If you yell "You Lie!" in a room full of politicians, how do they know who your talking to?
