Lanyards
What are you guy's thoughts on pistol lanyards?
|
I haven't really played with them enough to say either way.
I like the idea of a pistol lanyard for some applications, but not on every gun all the time. If I were going to be spending a lot of time on boats/near the water or on horseback, I would probably look into them pretty extensively. For GP handgun use/carry, I don't really see the need for one, but it can be good to have options. My .02 |
Dummy Cords
Along with dummy cords, they hang on toomuch stuff in the jungle or wooded area. They also get caugth coming out of vehicles.
Hey NDD no mention of my radio OK? :o |
Why longrange, what radio? :D

I had Gene @ HSGI build me a drop holster with a "lanyard pouch" on it. The lanyard stays out of the way until I draw and present the pistol to a target.
It works perfectly and doesn't hang up on anything. |

Worse case scenario I'll have the pictures ready for viewing by 30 September as I won't have access to a digital camera until next week. |
For working in helos they are the shit. I have seen weapons go bye bye out the door more than once. Just make sure you have a break-away feature on any lanyard that is not stowed.

I've been kinda thinking about getting one, since hubby has me doing transition drills with the AR now. That would, of course, require me to get my pistol back from him. I had it back long enough to clean it, and he "borrowed" it back. I'll be very happy when his gets here in a week or two.
Anybody have any recommendations? I have a HK USP .45 Compact, and a standard holster. I'm looking at getting a Kydex one soon, maybe for Christmas, if not sooner. |
