IV chat....
I'm not a medic and am not up on whats out there now. That said, I recently had to receive IV at home. I was impressed by the delivery system.
It was an "Elastomeric Infusion Pump". The meds were in a balloon inside a very sturdy bottle with tubing attached. "This pump does not rely on gravity to infuse the medication." I was wondering if we have anything like this out there as the meds not need to be elevated to work. Pressure of the Balloon delivers the fluids. |
used for all kinds of meds...largest I've seen is 400 mL. Not that price/cost is an issue for the DOD but one of those is equal to 2 cases of regular IVF bags.

Agreed on cost...
Thought they'd be expensive. I just know the ability to put it in a guy's pocket and not have to present a high profile is a good thing...
Thanks for the quick response. Regular IVs are great for Aid stations and higher, but I could see a tactical use for these. |
