Are the hilt and pommel plated?
The texture appears to be from forge heat, but the color is bright.
Casting?

Every single piece of that knife is a serious work of art, and knowing John's work, is fully functional and tough as nails... Absolutely gorgeous from the shape to the edge to the detailing to the sheath.... WOW.
