One last DZ for a man who was certainly part of our Greatest Generation. God speed, sir.

I don't believe I have ever felt more heartbroken from the loss of someone who I've never had the pleasure of actually meeting. Although there have been so many good men, some of much recognition and others of little, who shared fantastic traits like those of Major Dick Winters, this is the one who I studied the most and would try so hard to emulate his characteristics.

Rest in peace Major Winters. You will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Sir. Your story was inspirational and one that I will never forget. Although it has been said by those that served under him that they would follow Major Winters to hell, today I am confident many of them rendezvoused in heaven.

Surgicalcric 01-09-2011 21:16
