EPA takes over Texas pollution permits

I sincerely hope Texas tells them to "pound sand". I think the most effective action they can take is to simply ignore the EPA. Either that or nullification. The sad truth is - no matter who blinks, the America we used to believe in will lose.

EPA vs Texas
This started a long time before Obama was president. Personally, I prefer not to taste the air I breathe. when I drive into town after a week on the road, I like to see beautiful sunsets, not brown scuz on the horizon. Letting industries get away with whatever they want is not free enterprise nor sensible long term business practices. Personally, I hope the EPA nails Perry's ass to the wall. He is an arrogant asshole trying to cater to special interests to fund his presidential ambitions.

This is an olde on-going situation here in Texas, and the truth of the matter lies somewhere between the State's actions (or in-actions in this instance) and the EPAs demands.
This may actually prove to be one of those accidental good things which come along every millennium or so. And so it goes... Richard |
Texas will blink.
Reason is that it is easier for industry to buy lax regulations with campaign contributions to the state than to the feds. |
And "Cap and Trade" gets one step closer to being the law of the land. I don't know about the rest of you but I can't afford it. Nor do I want to see Al Bore and cronies get richer at the nation's expense. Sometimes the conspiracy theorists are right. YMMV.

Now when I was a kid the coal plants at BPU and KCPL belched black soot, but it has been several decades since I have seen anything other than condensate blowing off any of those plants. The clean coal gets cleaner with every plant they build. We also have the Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant which like many similar facilities has likely exceeded it's intended life span....and they keep him-hawing about that. And all the while China is opening dirty coal plants on a daily basis. It's almost like Al Gore and others sit down contrived a new game of 3 Card Monte that benefits themselves, their political agenda and their donor base. |
