Another one of my favorites. The Gerber LMF. Perfect balance. I did the wrap to fit my hand better.

K, nice blade. Your wrap-job? 550?

kgoerz 12-24-2010 18:29

Yes, Its 550 cord. One single gutted wrap. Then the square knots on each end. Always wet the 550 cord. Then blow dry it dry. Shrinks and tightens the wrap.

that's a nice wrap, what kinda technique is that? Im not good with paracord wrap, I use youtube to figure out the simple things guys like you seem to naturally get.

Just goggle knife wraps 550 cord. Strider's web site also has directions on how they do their Wraps. Always gut the base layer. Then leave the guts in the 550 cord for the top layers. A vise also is a big help. Soak the cord in Hot water. Then blow dry it to make it tighter.

Wrap it wet, or soak it after the wrapping?

kgoerz 12-25-2010 09:38

Yes wrap it wet. The blow drying will keep it from rusting. I think ill try this one next.

I sometimes carry an Izula as a small neck knife; handy little blade. Does benefit from a handle wrap with 550.

Thanks for the tips, I'll have to try this sometime.

Kgoerz,

What sheath are you using for the lmf; the Gerber sheath is too bulky for me...

kgoerz 12-26-2010 12:43

Thats a Spec Ops sheath. They sell them in two sizes.
