I'm assuming it's something for measuring ballistics. Almost looks like it could actually work as a suppressor for a 155mm though.

I've seen this pic in another forum embedded in a mock "motivational poster" claiming it was a suppressor, don't think I'm buying it though......

It's a Barrel Condensator. Used to measure the positive F-Forces produced by certain propellants as they circumnavigate. I have no idea what the hell it is.

It's how they make self propelled howitzers.

See, the daddy howitzer sticks his "cannon" in the "hole" of the mommy howitzer, and after a period of time, the mommy howitzer, fires out the baby howitzer.

I'm not so sure about that. It looks more like San Francisco's definition of a marriage (daddy on daddy).

Cant look at Richards site on this device but, indeed that is a howitzer suppressor. Expansion chambers to the right and left for the brake and tube up front. This is on a training range in Germany. Those of you that trained there know how they are about quiet time...

Possibly a boresighting device that uses a Tritium radioactive disk in the muzzle brake.

I'm using this as an answer to something my kids ask me in the near future.... :D
