Just for grins
 

On my last trip to Ft. Bragg for a reunion I got the bug to try some of the modern gear. Recently I obtained a Rifleman's Vest and an Assault Pack. Although I am pushing 70, recent events have encouraged me to be a little more prepared than I have in the past. I remember the old pack and belt system that were carried in my day and was astonished to find that despite my age, I can easily carry 50% more than the old basic load that used to be extremely uncomfortable after a fews days in the hot & wet. Note that I was not wearing armor, but then again the old Flak Jacket wasn't much fun either. I just wanted the young warriors protecting us today to know how far the new equipment has progressed. I hope it continues to improve.:lifter
