Palestinian Oktoberfest lures thousands of revellers to West Bank

"............Around 10,000 people were expected to attend the weekend's Oktoberfest, which would make it the biggest since the event began in the Christian-dominated village. It is a mark of the festival's success that the small area around the municipality building was crammed with food stalls doing a lively trade to Palestinian families (both Muslim and Christian), diplomats, aid workers and tourists..........."

And I thought the "McDavid's" in Israel were odd.

Commedy...

I'd like to see a group of Palestinian people don lederhosen shorts and dirndl dresses, better yet, I'd like to see them perform a Bavarian folk dance and yodel. :p

210% tax?? Not surprising and even more not a surprise that the Jordanians aren't taxed nearly as much. Ah, but its the muslim way.

In the early 70's I flew as a Sky Marshal (Customs Security Officer) and used to see Saudis and other Arabs partying heartily in Paris during layovers. A few of us went down to Rue Pigalle to see one of the famous floor shows at the Crazy Horse and all we saw were Arabs getting sloshed and throwing money at the girls. I've also seen them drinking in first class on the old Pan=Am 747's while wearing their head rags. We used to supplement our travel expense money by taking bottles of Scotch to the gold market in Tehran where we could get $100.00 for a $10.00 bottle of Johnny Walker Red. Who says that Muslims don't drink?

We were on the beach in Eilat once with several attractive, topless German lasses laying around. This 30ish Arab young man with his robes on was trying to video one of them. She jumped up and smacked the crap out of him. Sent him running like a rat! We couldn't help but laugh our asses off.

One can hear from Muslims that they drink alcohol at night, inside buildings, in the planes... because Allah doesn`t see :)

Beer and famous Israeli Army "You Can Dance In Fatigues And Webbing" team would make peace in Melee East much faster than all those negotiations...
