USO Dallas/Fort Worth

This morning at DFW Airport, George and Laura Bush greeted 150 (very surprised) troops as they arrived home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Seems like a nice USO too.

What a class act.

And yes, the USO's (plural, there are several of them at DFW) are great, with lots of goodies and the largest collection of challenge coins I have ever seen.

Very cool.

There is just something about the pictures of President Bush meeting with Soldiers that gives me a good feeling, they're always so genuine.

Within a few days of Chris crossing over on 8 Aug 2005, I received a hand written note from both President and Mrs Bush. They were very thoughtful and powerful at the same time. I was genuinely touched by their notes and have kept them and always will. I wonder what Gold Star families get now?

Unfortunately, they probably get a signed 8x10 of Zero and an IPOD with a collection of his greatest speeches about himself.

I have known the Bushes since 1995 when my son went through a confirmation program with his daughters at HPUMC - class is a word I would use to describe Laura, not necessarily George - however - he does have a certain style of character found here in Texas and a big heart, he is loyal to a fault and people are comfortable around him, what you see is what you get with him, he has tremendous belief in and respect for our armed forces...and we are glad to have them both back home. ;)

Richard's $.02 :munchin

Proud to be a Texan, and yes those pics do not lie about the way The Bushes feel about our Armed Services.

When this story came out, the President said, the only thing he misses about being President was, being CinC of our Armed Forces. That respect still echoes within him today.

I must say tho......he's looking awfully tanned and rested. :D

Heartily agree, and that was a great video, but do we have no sports fans in the crowd? We had Daryl "Moose" Johnston, of Dallas Cowboys fame, 3x Superbowl champion, now with Fox Sports, standing right behind the Prez.... I didn't see anyone stop to shake his hand. Where's the love?
