Girl Scouts saying this?
http://www.lifenews.com/int1482.html
Guys, ladies, Check this out, got this off a Military Jeep page, I think it was poorly written and this group is trying to connect it to the US Girls Scouts. What do you think? AL :munchin |
This is misleading and appears to be misreported. The WAGGGS is NOT the same as the Girl Scouts of America.

Thanks,
I too understand its a very bad report... AL |

Through membership in the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), GSUSA is part of a worldwide family of 10 million girls and adults in 145 countries. Girl Scouts of the USA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization......"
http://www.girlscouts.org/who_we_are/ Yes it appears they are a part of WAGGGS. |

albeham, I find the article poorly written, too. The author mentions the following:
So who was there to receive the PP brochure? Was it the heads of UN panels, was it Girl Scouts, or was it children aged 10-14? I believe it's appropriate to teach this age group HIV prevention, reproductive and sexual health, etc as there are more and more kids in this age group having sex. :( But the part of the brochure which "promotes casual sex" and "talking dirty" and "acting out your fantasies"??? Uh, HELLLLOOOOO? For 10 year olds? I am proud to be an American when I read stuff like that. o5 |
Here's the Planned Parenthood brochure entitled "Healthy, Happy and Hot.". I think it's a lot more disturbing than the article indicates - judge for yourself.
What type of message does it send to have a brochure about young HIV+ girls called "Healthy, Happy and Hot."? Is that the result of AIDS? What type of message does it send to tell an underaged HIV+ girl any of the following: Quote:

Here is a link to the UN Conference 1-12 Mar 2010 whose stated purpose was:
In March 2010, the Commission on the Status of Women will undertake a fifteen-year review of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the outcomes of the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly. Emphasis will be placed on the sharing of experiences and good practices, with a view to overcoming remaining obstacles and new challenges, including those related to the Millennium Development Goals. Member States, representatives of non-governmental organizations and of UN entities will participate in the session. A series of parallel events will provide additional opportunities for information exchange and networking. http://www.un.org/womenwatch/daw/beijing15/index.html Attendees were: The fifty-fourth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will be attended by representatives of Member States, United Nations entities and of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) from all regions of the world. Here is a list of the NGOs who attended the 2 week conference: http://www.un.org/womenwatch/daw/bei...nvitedNGOs.pdf Here is a listing of the many brochures/pamphlets/booklets/etc put out by IPPF and the purpose for the brochure targeted in the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute article republished in LifeNews: A guide written for young people living with HIV to help them understand their rights, and live healthy, happy and sexually fulfilling lives. http://www.ippf.org/en/Resources/Guides-toolkits/ Anybody think LifeNews has an agenda of sorts? http://www.lifenews.com/about.html I can't see these pamphlets being touted by the GSA or showing up in anybody's box of Thin Mints - however, I can see them (along with all the other pamphlets available from all the attending NGOs) being displayed and distributed for informational purposes in regards to an NGOs focus during a global conference such as the one held by the ECOSOC. And so it goes... Richard's $.02 :munchin |

Now if we could just get the girls to give their mothers those pamphlets, there might be many more happy husbands in the world ...:) |
