Check this out, got this off a Military Jeep page, I think it was poorly written and this group is trying to connect it to the US Girls Scouts.

This is misleading and appears to be misreported. The WAGGGS is NOT the same as the Girl Scouts of America.

I find the article poorly written, too. The author mentions the following:

• WAGSGG (Girl Scouts) hosted a "no-adults-welcome" panel at the United Nations.
• Planned Parenthood distributed a brochure that included the words "There is no right or wrong way to have sex. Just have fun, explore and be yourself!"
• The event was part of the annual United Nations CSW (Commission on the Status of Women).
• At the CSW were the heads of powerful UN agencies, who released a statement promoting an "Adolescent Girls Task Force," particularly those aged 10-14.

So who was there to receive the PP brochure? Was it the heads of UN panels, was it Girl Scouts, or was it children aged 10-14?

I believe it's appropriate to teach this age group HIV prevention, reproductive and sexual health, etc as there are more and more kids in this age group having sex. :(

But the part of the brochure which "promotes casual sex" and "talking dirty" and "acting out your fantasies"??? Uh, HELLLLOOOOO? For 10 year olds?

I am proud to be an American when I read stuff like that. :mad:

Here's the Planned Parenthood brochure entitled "Healthy, Happy and Hot.". I think it's a lot more disturbing than the article indicates - judge for yourself.

What type of message does it send to have a brochure about young HIV+ girls called "Healthy, Happy and Hot."? Is that the result of AIDS?

What type of message does it send to tell an underaged HIV+ girl any of the following:

If I had an under-aged daughter who was given this pamphlet; I'd find a male member of the organization to give more than a talking to. Talk about a betrayal of trust.

I can't see these pamphlets being touted by the GSA or showing up in anybody's box of Thin Mints - however, I can see them (along with all the other pamphlets available from all the attending NGOs) being displayed and distributed for informational purposes in regards to an NGOs focus during a global conference such as the one held by the ECOSOC.
