Firearms safety is critical at all times. |
I saw a SF Lt Col take over a M 16 safety class to demonstrate his talents.
He promptly shot a guy's hat off his head. He then threw the fully loaded 16 on the ground as hard as he could with about 10 people standing around in a little group. |

Broadsword2004, it appears to be the former instead of the latter.
Every time I read one of these stories I end up running myself through basic firearms safety all over again. Sadly I've seen too many people who are currently enlisted who should be allowed to hold pellet guns, much less actual rifles. |

On the other front. They don't allow Dummy rounds on the Range where I work. No Dummy Rounds on the same Range as live Ammo. Of course this is stupid. Because we need to use Dummy rounds when teaching students and to carry out the Ball and Dummy drill.
Yes there are other ways to do it. But it's just dumb to put Dummy rounds in the same category as Blank Rounds. |
Not all 'accidents' are accidental.
