This is a Baseball town! With Albert and the boys, this place is better then the Magic Kingdom. Must really suck to be from Chicago -- Bears, Cubbies and Bulls |

Is there something about living near the great lakes that makes it especially crappy? 25% of the towns on that list are near a great lake.

Criteria include violent crime, unemployment, foreclosures and abandoned housing, taxes, commute times, weather, superfund pollution sites, and sports teams (when applicable).
