Obama: Intelligent, but intellectually lazy?

I have said here and on other forums that I believe Barak Obama to be intelligent, but intellectually lazy. I came to the feeling that he was lazy on one of the rare occasions when he took questions after a speech. He gave his regular inspirational performance during the speech. However, when asked a question it was if he did not understand the contents of the speech. In fact, it was as if he had not even read it. I can understand a president not being a wonk on all the subjects he is required to speak on. But was just unfamiliar with the precedents of his proposal.

Well, now the SOTU speech has caused me to reevaluate my conclusion that he is intelligent. In his attach on the Supreme court, this constitutional scholar, this constitutional professor, this leader who has pledged to honor the constitution apparently, did not understand the Supreme Court ruling. He didn't get it just a little wrong. He got it majorly wrong.

I was wrong. :o

I used to work with a lot of engineers and some of them were like that. There would be a simple problem and their solution was the most complex solution you can imagine, yet a simple solution would be betteer.

You must be careful about bashing engineers. I are one. :D

When I was a young gun, my grandfather would some times point out a gentleman on the street, someone he knew, and say, "That man hasn't been around the coffee pot long enough to find the handle". Or, .."he's to smart for his own good, ...his thinking is going to get someone hurt".

Intellectuals????

Thomas Jefferson once said, (paraphrase), knowledge is wonderful, I'm constantly reminded how much I don't know.

I read that as being humble. I've always admired the simple speach of great learned men.

why do people keep saying the man is intelligent?? Please name me one thing he has done that is indicative of intelligence....

Sealed grades; no writing as law review editor (requirement); nothing published as a law professor (requirement); no record in senate;

The man got to where he is by the color of his skin. His performance is an indictment of affirmative action.

This is the part were I mention the handle. But in his defense, he has identified those people who are attempting to destroy America. In that, he has been consistent.

It's when intellectuals start believing their own press.

Ask the president how many mistakes he has made...

I have no doubt he's an intelligent fellow.
He seems to be lacking in common sense.
I suspect his ego cancels both out and blinds him to reality.

You mean, the show with a panelist who is a Harvard Medical School MD and a board certified psychiatrist? The same panelist who thinks Obama may be clinically delusional?

Yep I sure did.

I dunno, is it this speech that CNN showed last night. He was taking some tough questions from the GOP attendees.

Delusional, probably. I am not fond of the man or his policies. Glenn Beck did a great piece on Progressivim last night that made one think that he is using Woodrow Willson and FDR's progressive policies. I quite enjoyed it and reccomend watching that particular show.

King O nose in the air, jutting chin, taking down to everyone...I can't stomach more than a 60 seconds of him. I find King O conceited, entitled and arrogant.

When he pulled out the spoiled brat card that if he didn't get his way he would just issue an Executive Order or in the case of the SCOTUS decision they would find away around it. In other words screw you, I am going to do it with or without your approval.

IMO, the charade is about to come to an end, and the man is showing us his true colors as threatening thug.
