A long, but worthwhile read. Thanks.

Hostility Disguised as Grievance

This section warrants pulling out of the "Cliff Notes" from Ray Ibraham's article:

Hostility Disguised as Grievance
Raymond Ibraham

Mainstream Islam's four schools of jurisprudence lend their support to this hostile Weltanschauung by speaking of the infidel in similar terms. Bin Laden's addresses to the West with his talk of justice and peace are clear instances of taqiyya.

He is not only waging a physical jihad but a propaganda war, that is, a war of deceit.

IF he [Bin Laden] can convince the West that the current conflict is entirely its fault,
he garners greater sympathy for his cause.

At the same time, he knows that:

IF Americans were to realize that NOTHING short of their submission
can ever bring peace
, his propaganda campaign would be quickly compromised.

Hence
the constant need to dissemble and to cite grievances,
for, as bin Laden's prophet asserted, "War is deceit."

Thank-you for posting the link.

Mr. Ibrahim is always a good read. I always throw the AQ reader at my new analysts when they first show up from the school house.

Put it at the top of the stack. Absolutely as relevant today as when it was published.

http://www.amazon.com/Al-Qaeda-Reade...3226912&sr=8-1

The Foreword and the Introduction are the Cliff Notes to understanding the ideology. Pay particular attention to pages 1-10.

To misquote Douglas Adams

"So these are some really nice guys who believe in Love, Peace, Beauty, and the destruction of all other life forms...."

It seems by the tenets of their own religion, we're going to have to kill all of these people as changing their belief system is impossible. There can be no trust in belief system that in a sense makes it a decree from on high to lie. Sad.

My First Rule of War- To win completely, you must fight the war on terms the enemy understands.

Thank God the Generals and Admirals in WWII understood what this means. If WWII was fought with the Political Correctness of today, think how many would still be suffering under the Japanese. Remember, the old leadership of Japan was pretty much killed off during the war so the Japanese were modernized and to a certain extent Westernized, allowing them to become successful in the second half of the 20th Century.

Until we get the Political Correctness and the press out of the war against Islam, it is going to continue. Where is Curtis LeMay when we need him?
