POLITICIAN, n. An eel in the fundamental mud upon which the superstructure of organized society is reared. When he wriggles he mistakes the agitation of his tail for the trembling of the edifice. As compared with the statesman, he suffers the disadvantage of being alive.*

PRESIDENCY, n. The greased pig in the field game of American politics.*

PRESIDENT, n. The leading figure in a small group of men of whom — and of whom only — it is positively known that immense numbers of their countrymen did not want any of them for President.*

And so it goes...

If it was happening somewhere else we'd be baffled at how stupid a populace could be to let all this kind of shit happen. We'd probably have some SF guys in there asap to try and get some stability in that government before it altogether shit the bed. It might even be funny, but....it's happening HERE. Scary...

Only the current president could put himself in the position where he's drawing criticism on his handling of health care reform from the right and the left.

PBS's Bill Moyers, one of my all time favorite liberals, has been teeing off on the way Democrats are handling health care reform for months.

IMO, the way to go in opposing the current president is to keep reminding his supporters how he's not done what he said he would do. While some of his supporters will trot out the dead horse argument about "problems the president inherited," eventually the fact will sink in: this president is the wrong man for the job.

See. We can agree on some things. ;)
