I was more looking at the cost as mostly "shipping".

Really I just thought it was a cool idea to show support for the troops, if this is inappropriate or you perceive it as a rip off please delete this thread.

Hmmmmmm.....

Hmmmm. I can buy a 12 pack of Root Beer on sale for $3-4.00 and ship it for $10.95. I don't get the $25.00 price tag...

I don't think it inappropriate, just wondering why the company is charging so much. I wonder what they charge over the counter for a case.

If someone senior here, perhaps TR or TS or W-M,who have current contact with USASFC or whoever can work something out where I/we can donate money or items,to be shipped to SF/USASOC troops, Even tho on Unemployment you could count me in 100% and trhen some.

I dont see where it is imperative for troops already in a nice, big, cushy base to get more comfort items to consume in the comfort of Heat/AC, 100+ chowhall choices, phone, internet access ect,to get even more comfort type items. I would want any donations to go to the guys AT the tip of the spear, out IN the remote-ass places like Waziristan ect.

Please,PLEASE, if someone does this, post any info here. If there is something like this in place already, please post any links. A webcrawler search turned up millions of hits, and would be old and dead b4 I got thru them all. Also, anything like "Knives 4 troops","Helmets for Hero's" ect, wherever there is a current need, for those who NEED it (again, not in the rear,in Baharain ect) I would try to do all I can.

I remember how shitty it is to be away, and with no family at the holidays.
It sucked.

From the web site.

For what it is worth, it is a cool old school Milwaukee brewery.

Root Beer

This truly old fashioned soda has the rich, creamy flavor that only comes from using pure Wisconsin honey direct from the combs. Our extracts are prepared at the brewery in a hand-made, gas-fired brew kettle, by combining honey, pure vanilla and a host of aromatic botanicals. The dark, honeyed brew will build a delicious, frothy head when properly poured into a frosted mug.
Price List:
$1.00/Single Bottle
$11.40/12 Pack
$21.60/24 Pack
$31.32/36 Pack

It doesn't seem all that outrageous, when comparing apples to apples (or root beer to root beer):

And no, there is no comparison between products such as these and your garden variety Mr. Pibb or A&W.

good root beer lousy beer

I don't know about the price, buf if I had to pay more for Specher root beer than say, A&W, I would. Good stuff.
