Is the White House on your computer?

With as much computer wisdom as we have on this site,
hoping for some ground truth and, if true,
advice on how to remove and prevent...

A coder can have a website drop a cookie on a pc and have that cookie say whitehouse.com, er, I mean .gov. doesn't take a whole lot of work. Someone is just trying to stir up the shit at that site.

Were it true, the first lady of the United States would be mighty upset when she read what I've written about her and her husband in my email and PMs.

Back on topic,, I use a share-ware pgm called: SpyBot Search & Destroy It is very good at ferreting out spy cookies and other nefarious snooping programs.

BUT, I can't guarantee that the DHS/CAIR/CIA/FBI/ACORN hasn't put spider pgm's out that no-one is allowed to block..:eek::eek:

Back on topic!

A few months ago, my computer got slammed big time. This was while using PC-cillin, including all updates!! My local computer heavy hitter took two days to remove the virus. He then doubled my RAM, installed SpyBot, and Spyware Blaster, along with MozillaFox as an internet explorer. Mozilla brings more protection while on the internet than Windows internet explorer. I follow directions as to how to use, scan, and update both Spybot, and Spyware Blaster; still have , update, and use PCP-cillin.

I am concerned that I saw with PS.com, and SFA having problems at the same time:confused:. What also concerns me is that today,I have come to believe that this could have come from our own government/White House. That really concerns me. Please tell me that I am daft, and should not worry!!

Agreed, If this could be traced back to whitehouse.gov .... no.... the MSM would not raise a stink, they would just tell us all that they are just monitoring us all for potential terrorist thinking, emphasis on think.

Put the tin foil around your computer.

I hope that in the end this is funny.

RF 1, looks identical to my setup and I would suggest that you install the following add-ons to Firefox:

Ad Hacker
Adblock Plus
Better Privacy
Clear Private Data
NoScript
TrackMeNot
Keyscrambler

IF you use Facebook, I would get Facebook Beacon Blocker too. :lifter

On the subject of protection software Microsoft recently rolled out their own anti-virus/malware program and it comes rather well rated.

http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Also if your tinfoil hat needs a few extra layers give Peerblock a try.
http://www.peerblock.com/
From their site: "PeerBlock lets you control who your computer "talks to" on the Internet. By selecting appropriate lists of "known bad" computers, you can block communication with advertising or spyware oriented servers, computers monitoring your p2p activities, computers which have been "hacked", even entire countries! They can't get in to your computer, and your computer won't try to send them anything either.

And best of all, it's free!"

While the IP lists peerblock uses aren't perfect they are a good addition to ones protection suite.

As for Mozilla addons, I'll give my recomendation as well to Ad-Block and Noscript.
