Richard, is there a reason you continue to put up some of the most extreme left-wing retorts avaiable on the internet?

Just to show how subjective such comparisons may be.

Not all comparisons are worth posting. Just as some news sources are so extreme left wing they are no longer credible news outlets.

Perhaps we can see something of the truth if we look at the political futures market.

LINK

Briefly, the chances of a health care bill are down, troops to Afghanistan are up, and U.S. unemployment rate in Dec 2009 going above 10% is also up.

This seems to suggest that many of the POTUS supporters will regard the outcomes as a failure of leadership. The unemployment numbers suggest a general consensus that his economic leadership is, likewise, failed.

We are headed into challenging financial times. Should they worsen, then I suspect the POTUS will receive a substantial portion of blame - hence, a failed presidency.

Too early to be a failed Presidency but , imho, a failing Presidency.
I particularly pay attention to the most recent international responses to this kindler/gentler approach and note the disdain rising from our allies and the glee of our enemies.
Our allies will bitch about us regardless...but they'd rather bitch about a strong standfast US than a vascilating weak administration that they cannot count on for anything but a photo op.
I believe he is seen as a hollow suit that loves to speak in rhetorical platitudes that accomplish squat.
Our enemies, otoh, are besides themselves and will give him meaningless platform after platform to feed his ego and watch his lips move while they do whatever they want.

Funny how they start the turn after the failed Olympic bid..........my $.02

Good article.
During the election, I told somebody that if Obama won, we would be praying for a resurrection of Clinton. Unfortunately, we could end up hoping that Obama is only as good a president as Jimmy Carter.
Personally, I think that Obama ranks about the same on the "liberal scale" as Clinton did. Clinton's advantage was that he had hired Dick Morris. On every big decision, Morris used his triangulation strategy, which kept Clinton much more centrist than the left wing of his party.
Obama, on the other hand, has no common-sense, conservative-democrat type in his cabinet. The ideas that have and will come from this president are going to continue to be extreme left-wing.
Good presidents, like good military commanders, have good experience, understand what's going on in the field and have ready access to "ground truth". Unfortunately, I'm afraid this president has no ground truth. Moreover, prior to this job, he has never made a decision of consequence(as a legislator, his voice was one of many), so he has no well of experience to draw from.
Could be a long four years.

I disagree with your premise. Obama is far to the left of Clinton, and that could have been discerned before the election merely by looking at his positions and associates, rather than listening to his words. The Clintons just consorted with scammers and raconteurs, the Obamas actually embraced revolutionaries, murderers, and those who would destroy this country.

Clinton let Hillary try to ram through a big government health care plan, signed a bad Crime Bill, etc., in his first two years and his numbers tanked before he hired Morris after the disastrous 94 elections, who then dragged him back to the center.

Obama's idea of center seems to be considerably to the left of Clinton. I agree with your assessment of his czars and advisors.

He just wants to "be" president.
He doesn't want to "do" what the president does.

It's just one big ego trip.

Sorry, but you are badly mistaken. He has no concept of enumerated powers and has violated it on a very large scale in the public eye, yet the leftist media remains silent about it (Hello...GM?). He has attempted and is still attempting to squelch the conservative press, not the extreme right wing press alone, but the MIDDLE OF THE ROAD CONSERVATIVE press. Have you been watching too much CBS/CNN? He has failed at every turn and made a mockery of not only the office of the president, but the US in general. He has wasted, squandered our tax dollars and wants to spend more on his new economic stimulus package. Do you think it will be spent more wisely than the last couple trillion dollars? It was not paid out to the people who lost their jobs, not to the people who needed it. It was handed out to failing big business. If GW had done that the lefties would have had a field day with it, but they are not saying shit about Obama handing out OUR money to AIG, Chrysler, et al...

Need I continue?

His cabinet are a bunch of turds, this congress are a bunch of turds, and Obama is the biggest turd of them all. He has surrounded himself with turds, attempted to cuddle up to the communists and was snubbed. He has strengthened ties with NOBODY, but has weakened our relationships with virtually every country on the face of this earth.

I don't see anybody even bringing up the subject impeaching the f***ing piece of $#!+, but they were ready to hang GW by his nuts for saying combat operations were completed in Iraq prematurely. The lefties wanted to impeach GW just for that, yet look what this ass-clown has gotten away with and not so much as a peep from the US media besides Glen Beck.

So, if it is really too early to be a failed presidency, please enlighten us as to how Obama might turn this around and be successful because he has completely and permanently destroyed any chance to gain my support for anything. Maybe you can help me trust he will pull through??? :munchin

Be safe,
Randy

Nicely put, I could not agree more.
(Some of us did in fact discern obamas intent well before he was elected.)
